  7. The fact that the vocals stay behind the instruments is a common thing in the shoegaze genre… mixed with the post-metal/rock elements, you get what Alcest is

As a huge Alcest fan I have to say that the vocals really are more atmospheric and thats the actual intent of Neige the only offical member of the band ( yes he is a multi-instrumentist even that Winterhalter play drums for him since the beginning) cuz he just uses vocals as another instrument. As his growls are legendary and absurdly emotional. You guys wont regret of checking Alcest and the other million bands he has participation on it. He created Alcest as a outlet for what he call "memoirs from another world" that he has since he was a child, a world so perfect and different that is impossible to put in words, so he translated into sound: Alcest. The first album "Suvenirs D'un Autre Monde" literally mean "memorys from another world" and is birth place of Backgaze, the mix of blackmetal intensity/euphoria with the wall of sound and peacefullness of Shoegaze/post rock. Even that Alcest is called "Post-Metal" some times, they really are Blackgaze since many bands (most with Neige's participation) followed the same vibe and sound later on, including Deafheaven the mos famous one.

  15. This is a great song, even though i don’t usually like this kind music, this gets 7 🤘’s out of 10 🤘’s.
    A new found band for me, thanx for reacting to this so i can react to it aswell, 😁.

  16. Excellent song. Kudos to the dancer – they put her through a lot. This is a French 'post metal' band – not sure what that is but the song was great ! Cheers guys.

  28. It felt like a long intro and an ending – but they forgot the middle section. It's definitely aiming at Progressive Metal, but isn't quite there yet. It's like Coldplay attempting to play Gojira.
