The Duke, 59, stepped down from the role after several leading businesses said they would not renew their support for the competition.  He resigned today today as pressure continued to mount over his friendship with paedo financier Jeffrey Epstein. It comes after Andrew’ financial backers started to cut ties with his business start-up project Pitch@Palace.  Banking giant Standard Chartered and Advertising Week Europe are the latest to say they will no longer be a partner of the initiative.  A Standard Chartered spokesman said: “We won’t be renewing the sponsorship when it ends in February”.  Advertising Week Europe said: “While our support for entrepreneurs remains just as strong, we can confirm that Pitch@Palace will not be held as part of Advertising Week Europe 2020″.  City giant KPMG yesterday pulled out of his international business platform following a car crash Newsnight interview over his involvement with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Esptein.  Tech company Gravity Road has also confirmed it will end its association with the project.  Financial services firm Aon demanded Pitch@Palace remove its logo from the website, saying it was wrongly listed as a sponsor.  Other sponsors include pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca, whose spokesman said: “Our three-year partnership expires at the end of this year and is being reviewed.”  Prince Andrew founded Pitch@Palace in 2014 and its website promises contact with CEOs, influencers, and mentors.
