Eastern Cape residents say harsh sentences must be imposed on those implicated in the Amathole district toilet scandal. They say this will deter government officials from misusing public funds. Last week, the Hawks arrested ten suspects in connection with the 600 million rand toilet tender, awarded to the Siyenza group in 2015. Charges include fraud, corruption and money laundering.
